When going to hungary, passeport, visa or identity card ?
since mai 2006, hungary is an integral part of europe, so, a simple identity card is enough for members of the european union.

Où et comment changer ses euros ?
Changer ses euros dans les petites boutiques qui ont pignon sur rue. Ce sont des petites boutiques où il est marqué change et les valeurs sont notées à l'extérieur. Ne pas prendre de traveller chèques car les banques hongroises prennent un gros pourcentage en leur faveur.

Ne pas changer dans les banques, dans les hôtels, le change est inférieur. Surtout, ne pas changer à l'aéroport, le change est catastrophique!

En général il faut compter un change à 250 soit pour 1 000 forints : 4€,  2 000forints : 8€,
10 000forints : 40€, etc...

Where and how to exchange your euros ?
You can change your euros in small exchange shops found all arround budapest. You will see the sign 'Change' and the currencies indicated in front of the shop.

Quels sont les moyens de transport en commun ?
Budapest est très bien desservi au point de vue transport en commun, tramways, trolleys, bus, métros.

Do not use traveler checks as the hungarian banks take a big percentage for themselves.

Do not change your money in banks, hotels, the change is less worth. Definitly not change at the airport, here the change is catastrofic!

In genral you can count a rate of exchange of 250.

Are there guarded parkings in budapest ?
You will find many guarded parking lots in budapest, often non covered, the prices are indicated at the entry, per hour,day,week etc,...Our appartments are situated near guarded parkings.

What public transportations options do we have ?
Budapest has a very good public transportation service with metros,trolley buses,buses,tram.


The tickets can be bought in small booklets and are valid for all public transportaions, you have to validate them (many tiket controls). they can be bought on metro stations, and small kiosks marked 'trafik'.

Are there many grocery stores in budapest, what are their opening hours?
You will ave no trouble finding small' rescue' shops, open day and night, all around the city.

Nicely spell the street name, as the pronunciation can be tricky,for example, the 'j' is pronounced 'ye'; the 's' is said'che'; 'c' is said 'ts' etc...

The hungarian wall sockets are the same as in mpost europeen countries.

Is there a jet lag ?
Hungary belong to this time zone UTC+1h. (same time as in for example, france, germany, spain, skandinavia..).

Are there any cyber cafes in Budapest ?
You will find many places with internet connexion all over budapest.
It will cost you about 400 huf/hour maximum.

What about the thermal baths ?
The baths are an integral part of the hungararian life style. Here you can also get massaged, or get a pedicure if you like; this you decide when you buy your ticket at the entry.

The baths are clam, you can realx forgettiung all your problems for a while. You can bring your famliy, friends, girlfriend/boyfriend. We recommend thet you bring your flip-flops when wandering from bath to bath, but also the sauna and the hammams. You should inform yourself in function of the chosen bath, about the opening hours, but also if males and females are mixte (may depend on the day).

Where to go out, take a drink ?
Nice bars :

Szimpla kert : Kazinczy utca 14, 7th district (metro to Astoria), with internet connection. Perfest in the summer time.
Szimpla et Dupla: Kertesz utca 48, 7th district (metro to Oktogon).

Szoda : Wesselényi utca 18
7th district (metro to Astoria) with available internet connection.

To dance outside in a night club(summer only) ?
Le Zöld Pardon : good atmosphere guarantied, on the Buda side.
Le Rio : in front of Zöld Pardon, very nice place.
L’inside (in the winter) and Buddha beach (in the summer).
